The UNESCO Department of the University Politehnica of Bucharest has developed following an agreement signed in 2017 between UNESCO and the University under the title "Engineering for Society".
At present the activity of the department is coordinated by Prof. Univ. Dr. Sorin Eugen ZAHARIA, as Director of the Department.
The objectives and main actions of the UNESCO Chair are established according to UNESCO priorities, as follows:
One of the main objectives of the UNESCO Chair is to contribute through research programs to green energy, smart transport and the low impact of air transport on the environment in order to address the challenges of climate change.
Through the study programs on innovation, intelligent and ecological energy, the UNESCO Chair will work to ensure the learning outcomes: skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to meet this challenge.
Starting with the academic year 2018-2019, the UNESCO Chair has a master program in English with professors from universities and aviation and IT specialists from Romania and other countries.
- "Green, Smart and Integrated Transport and Logistics" - 30 without tuition fees, 20 with tuition fees.
In the academic year 2019-2020, we want to develop a new master program that aims to prepare specialists with skills and competences in information and communication technology, as well as in the field of aviation:
- "IT Applied in aviation" - in process of accreditation; expected start date: October 2019
